'Conversas em Rosa' Discusses Breast Cancer Prevention and Early Diagnosis

Breast cancer prevention and early diagnosis are the central themes of the 'Conversas em Rosa: Tertúlia ao Entardecer, pela Consciencialização do Cancro da Mama' event. The initiative takes place this Friday, October 16th, at Pátio | Brunch & Bistrô, within the Madeira Photography Museum – Atelier Vicente’s, in Funchal.

Organized by the Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labor, and Youth, the discussion is part of the IV Regional Plan for Equality and Active Citizenship (IV PRICA) and the October Pink observances. Its aim is to raise public awareness about the importance of early detection, fostering reflection on rights, well-being, and overcoming the disease.

Participants include Artur Baptista (Order of Lawyers), Mary Carfora (makeup artist), Mónica Armas (radiologist), and Helena Toste Silva (Portuguese League Against Cancer), who will share her survivor testimony. The session will be moderated by Isabel Gomes da Silva (Order of Nurses) and attended by the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Micaela Freitas. The closing remarks will be delivered by the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labor, and Youth, Paula Margarido.
