Criticism of New Higher Education Access System in Madeira

Instability in the release of secondary education national exam results has caused discontent among Madeira's students, who are now facing difficulties with the higher education application process.

The Higher Education Access Office began the application process late, with many students and parents struggling to obtain the ENES form, an essential document for applications. Although the system was reopened later, the issuance of the document has not yet normalized in all schools, with reports of new system failures.

Ricardo Gonçalves, the regional director, anticipates an increase in applications this year and urges pre-booking and the submission of all necessary documentation to streamline assistance. Student Bruno Gonçalves described the process as "a mess" and a source of anxiety due to the uncertainty of grades.
