Manuel Aguiar, organizer of a Saturday demonstration, presented key demands to alleviate the pressure of rising prices on Madeiran families.
The demands include the creation of a tax on the extraordinary profits of large companies, arguing there's a contrast between corporate results and consumer struggles. Aguiar highlighted increasing supermarket prices and stagnant wages as factors exacerbating the situation.
The demonstration, held near the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, also addressed difficulties young people face in accessing housing, calling for measures to improve this.
