Following a double earthquake in Venezuela on June 24, social media posts emerged claiming Madeiran footballer Cristiano Ronaldo sent two planes with medicine, food, and clothing for the victims.
One version attributed thanks to the "president of Venezuela," mentioning two planes full of aid. However, checks with the player's official sources, Portuguese and international media, and Venezuelan fact-checking platforms found no confirmation.
While there's no evidence of the planes being sent, Cristiano Ronaldo did show support, with the Portuguese national team observing a moment of silence for the victims and the player sending a message of encouragement to a Venezuelan child affected by the earthquakes.
