The Madeira Electricity Company, SA (EEM) has announced that the electricity supply will be interrupted in certain areas of Funchal due to maintenance and renovation work on the distribution network.
The outages will affect Santa Luzia on August 27, 2026, between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, impacting Rua do Pombal and Rua das Dificuldades. The following day, August 28, 2026, the Santo António parish will experience supply interruptions between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM, and again between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, in the areas of Rua Encosta Pico Barcelos and Estrada Comandante Camacho Freitas.
EEM advises that power may be restored earlier than scheduled, and therefore, conductors should be considered permanently live for safety reasons. The company requests the understanding of consumers for any inconvenience caused.
