The chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Consolation, in the Quinta area of the Caniço parish, will host its feast on Sunday, 1 November.
Mass begins at 3 p.m., followed by a procession. A festival starts at 4 p.m., featuring singer Octávio Freitas.
The chapel was founded in 1591 by Aires de Ornelas de Vasconcelos, fourth lord of the Caniço entail, and his wife, D. Maria Correia. Madeira has two other chapels dedicated to this invocation, in the Imaculado Coração de Maria parish and in Jardim da Serra.
