The Funchal City Council (CMF) has formalized a cooperation protocol with Club Sports Madeira (CSM), totaling €62,709.
This year's increased support is primarily allocated to the organization of the 2026 Madeira Rally (RM), with approximately €49,000. The remaining funds will support the Young Athlete Program (PJA), various sports including handball, volleyball, and badminton, and participation in international events.
The agreement was signed by CMF President Jorge Carvalho and CSM President Paulo Fontes. The 2026 Madeira Wine Rally, organized by CSM, is scheduled from July 30 to August 1. A notable change for this edition is the relocation of the vehicle's closed park from Praça do Município to the former GAG2 site in São Martinho, aimed at preserving the square and reducing traffic disruptions in the city center.
