A Cooperation Protocol between the Municipality of Funchal and Club Sport Marítimo for the year 2026 was signed at the Funchal City Hall. Under this agreement, the local authority is providing €147,530 to the club.
The funds are designated for three main areas: the organization of sports events, the preservation of the club's historical memory, and the training of young athletes. The CMF's "Young Athlete" program will allocate €27,850 to 17 CSM modalities.
Furthermore, €100,000 will be directed to the club's museum, and nearly €20,000 will support two specific events: the Centenary 12 International Maritime Tournament and the Madeira Fighting Championship (Muay Thai Gala). The CMF president emphasized the importance of preserving institutional memory and the club's role in sports and development in Funchal.
