The Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) party has raised concerns about a halt in performing thyroid biopsies at the Regional Health Service (SESARAM), attributing the situation to a lack of qualified human resources.
According to JPP, complaints received indicate a lack of response from the Endocrinology Service, with the only two qualified doctors being overloaded with other urgent areas. The party believes this leaves patients "in an unacceptable and dangerous clinical limbo."
JPP also questions the alleged lack of credentials for patients to undergo the procedure in the private sector, limiting available alternatives. The party links this issue to broader waiting lists in the region and demands a resolution for the thyroid biopsy situation.
