The Youth wing of Juntos pelo Povo (JPP) has expressed "deep concern" over the delay in the publication of results for national basic and secondary education exams. The Ministry of Education postponed the release, initially scheduled for July 14, to July 17, citing problems with the new digital grading system.
Consequently, the second phase of the national exams has been rescheduled to take place between July 20 and 24, although the national higher education access competition calendar remains unchanged. JPP Youth leader Jéssica Teles lamented that organizational failures penalize students, emphasizing that the consequences are amplified for Madeira students due to insularity, which entails higher costs and logistical challenges.
The JPP hopes that the causes of the delay will be investigated, responsibilities assigned, and solutions implemented to prevent similar situations in the future, stressing that "investing in education is investing in the country's future."
