Firefighters from the Autonomous Region of Madeira are participating in an operational exchange program with the Regional Civil Protection Service and the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC). The initiative, running from the beginning of the month until the end of September, aims to enhance the capabilities of Madeira's operational staff.
Firefighters are integrated into various units of the Special Civil Protection Force (FEPC) on the mainland, participating in rural fire combat systems and high-complexity incidents. The program promotes the standardization of procedures and strengthens interoperability between the protection and rescue structures of the Region and the mainland.
Richard Marques, president of the Regional Civil Protection Service, IP-RAM, highlighted that these exchanges offer a unique opportunity to deepen knowledge, share experiences, and absorb best practices, considering real-context training as an effective tool for consolidating skills.
