Madeira Ornithological Association Wins 11 Podiums at International Competition

The Madeira Ornithological Association (AOM) secured 11 podiums at the 12th Sado International, including 8 International Champion titles, despite bringing fewer birds due to transport costs.

The Madeira Ornithological Association (AOM) distinguished itself at the 12th Sado International, organized by the Setúbal Ornithological Club, achieving a total of 11 podiums.

Among the results, the AOM secured 8 International Champion titles, 2 Vice Champion titles, and one third place, with only 23 birds competing. Five of the seven Madeiran breeders present reached the podium, with notable success for Pedro Garanito and João Paulo Silva, both earning 2 International Champion titles.

The participation was marked by a reduced number of birds, attributed to increased air transport fees for live animals. The AOM's board has raised this issue with official entities. Concurrently, the AOM maintained a promotional stand for the island and Madeiran ornithology, also advertising the upcoming second edition of the Madeira International Bird Exhibition (MIBE).
