The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) anticipates periods of very cloudy skies for the island of Madeira this Wednesday, October 7th.
Showers are expected, especially from the morning, with a higher incidence on the north-facing slopes and in the highlands, and thunderstorms are possible. The wind will be light to moderate from the north/northeast, with stronger gusts in the highlands and at the eastern and western extremities of the island from mid-afternoon. A slight decrease in maximum temperature is predicted for the highlands.
In Funchal, the weather will be similar, with very cloudy skies, showers, and the possibility of thunderstorms. The wind will be light, below 15 km/h. Waves on the north coast are expected to increase in height throughout the day, while on the south coast they will remain below 1 meter. The sea water temperature will be between 23 and 25ºC.
