The Autonomous Region of Madeira has announced that the fireworks display for the 2026/2027 New Year's Eve celebration will feature 59 launch sites.
These sites will be distributed between the island of Madeira and the island of Porto Santo. In Funchal, 57 sites will be set up, divided among the city's amphitheater, the seafront, and offshore platforms. Porto Santo will have two launch sites.
The Regional Government considers the Christmas and New Year's festivities the "region's biggest tourist draw," with the December 31st pyrotechnic show being the most nationally and internationally projected event, justifying the need to "continue, enrich, and consolidate" this spectacle.
The estimated budget for this display is 1,212,696 euros, plus VAT.
