Monte Palace Garden Not Among New 7 Wonders of Portugal

The Monte Palace Garden, a finalist in the Tourism category, did not make the list of the 7 New Wonders of Portugal.

The Monte Palace Garden, which was competing in the Tourism category, has not been selected as one of the 7 New Wonders of Portugal. The winners were announced during an event held in Sintra.

The Madeiran garden was one of three finalists, but the popular vote ultimately favored the Episcopal Palace Garden in Castelo Branco. The Monte Palace Garden, formerly the Monte Palace Hotel opened in 1904, was restored by José Berardo from 1987 onwards, transforming it into an internationally renowned cultural destination.
