Monte Palace Madeira is one step away from securing a place in the national final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal 2026. The Madeiran Tropical Garden competes this Saturday, September 5th, in the national semi-final of the contest, in a live broadcast on TVI from the National Palace of Sintra, starting at 9:30 PM.
Out of the 49 heritage sites that reached this stage, only 21 will advance. In each of the seven categories, the top three most voted by the public will be selected. Voting is open until the September 5th broadcast, and can be done via phone call or through the TVI Pass app.
The Monte Palace, spanning over 70,000 square meters, combines natural, artistic, and historical heritage, featuring a wide botanical diversity, oriental gardens, a recreation of the Laurissilva forest, peacocks, flamingos, and Koi fish, alongside collections of tiles and Modern and Contemporary art.
