The Casa do Povo of São Roque do Faial will host the second edition of the 'Our Land, Our Meeting' event on August 28th. This initiative incorporates the XXII Meeting of Emigrants from São Roque do Faial.
The event aims to bring together emigrants and those who consider São Roque do Faial their homeland, broadening its scope due to a declining number of emigrants. The chosen date is close to the Feast of Glorious São Roque.
Collaboration for the event comes from the local parish, confraternities, the Regional Government, Santana Municipal Council, the Parish Council of São Roque do Faial, and the Casas do Povo of Água de Pena, Ribeira Brava, and Santana. A highlight will be the presentation of the 'São Roque Peregrino' award, honoring an emigrant from the parish annually.
