The Ponta do Sol Basic Integrated School (EB1/PE/C) hosted the 4th Eco-Schools Council meeting, focusing on the annual review of the program's activities.
The meeting highlighted a strong emphasis on environmental education, sustainability, and the involvement of the school community. Projects such as organic gardens, recycling brigades, beach cleanups, and the use of technology for renewable energy were presented. The school also participated in various contests and initiatives, engaging all students from the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, Nursery, and Preschool.
During the meeting, a letter of challenges was presented to the Municipality of Ponta do Sol concerning SDG 13 – Climate Action. An external environmental audit conducted in April indicated that the school is "on the right track" and is preparing to apply for the Eco-Schools Award.
