The boardwalk connecting Praia Formosa to Socorridos has been closed to pedestrian traffic as a precautionary measure.
The decision was made by the Metropolitan Development Society, in close coordination with the Maritime Police and the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Funchal.
According to the institution's press release, the measure is preventive and aims to safeguard the physical integrity of those who use the coastal infrastructure. Teams will be mobilized in the coming days to carry out technical work to assess safety conditions and inform a potential future reopening.
