The Regional Command of Madeira of the Public Security Police (PSP) detained a 66-year-old resident of Funchal on July 27, 2026, for the alleged crime of drug trafficking.
The arrest followed the detection of a cannabis plantation in a garden within a residence. During a house search, the PSP seized a total of 11 cannabis plants, weighing over 3.8 kilograms gross, estimated to yield approximately 1,523 individual doses.
The suspect was presented to the competent authorities and, after contact with the Public Prosecutor's Office, was released under a term of identity and residence, pending further investigation.
