Public Consultation on National Road Safety Strategy Ends Saturday

The public consultation for the National Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030, also known as Vision Zero 2030, closes on Saturday, July 18th, at 23:59, on the ConsultaLEX platform.

The National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) has been urging participation from citizens, institutions, and organizations through the campaign "Vision Zero 2030. A vision that listens." The strategy, aligned with European policies and the Stockholm Declaration, is based on the principle that no road death or serious injury is inevitable, promoting shared responsibility.

Road accident data in Madeira, despite a favorable trend in recent years according to ANSR, is a point of analysis. Previous reports indicate that between 2010 and 2019, the number of accidents with victims followed the national trend, but fatalities showed a more irregular path, with a notable peak in 2019 due to a specific tourist bus accident.
