Regional Government Launches Updated Guides to Madeira's Religious Heritage

The Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment, and Culture presented updated editions of guides for the Convent of Santa Clara, Funchal Cathedral, and the Chapel of Corpo Santo at the Convent of Santa Clara.

Regional Secretary Eduardo Jesus highlighted that heritage conservation is a priority, noting investments in the restoration of religious buildings. He stressed the importance of educating the public about the value of these sites and disseminating comprehensive, research-based information.

Interventions at Funchal Cathedral and the Convent of Santa Clara have deepened knowledge and enriched the guides. Eduardo Jesus suggested this collection could form the basis for religious heritage routes, encouraging residents and visitors to explore the island's history.
