The Regional Government of Madeira has announced the reissuance of guidebooks for the Convent of Santa Clara, Funchal Cathedral, and the Chapel of Corpo Santo. This initiative aims to bolster the region's strategy for preserving and promoting the island's religious heritage.
Eduardo Jesus, the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment, and Culture, highlighted that heritage conservation has been a key priority over the past decade, with substantial investments made in religious monuments. He stressed the importance of not only physically preserving these sites but also effectively communicating their historical and artistic significance to the public.
The updated guides feature revised content and new photography. Significantly, the guide for the Convent of Santa Clara is now available in French and German, broadening access to information about this important heritage.
