Rui Abreu, chief of staff for the President of the Regional Government of Madeira, visited the operational center of the National Civil Protection Operational Force stationed in La Guaira, Venezuela, the epicenter of the catastrophe.
There, Abreu met with the commander of the Portuguese force, received an update on ongoing operations, and thanked the national teams for their work, highlighting the mission's effectiveness in saving lives, including those of Madeiran residents.
The visit reinforced Madeira's solidarity with the teams on the ground and conveyed a message of hope to families searching for news of their loved ones.
