The Regional Government of Madeira has begun the rehabilitation of the São Vicente Health Centre, with an investment of 3.717 million euros (VAT included). The project, which will not receive funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), will be entirely supported by the Regional Budget.
The contract, awarded to RIM – Engenharia e Construções, is scheduled for completion by the end of Summer 2027. Interventions include facade rehabilitation, roof insulation, waterproofing reinforcement, lighting system replacement, and the installation of solar thermal systems. The aim is to upgrade the building's energy rating from F to A+ and reduce energy consumption by over 50%.
According to the Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, Pedro Rodrigues, the work aims to address long-standing issues and improve comfort and working conditions. Service suspensions are not planned, although occasional disruptions to user services may occur.
