SocioHabitaFunchal represented the Municipality of Funchal at the Sanjoaninas 2026 Festivals in the Azores, invited by the Angra do Heroísmo City Council. The delegation, comprising 36 marchers and four escorts, brought the culture, traditions, and community spirit of Funchal and Madeira to Terceira Island.
The highlight of their participation was the June 23rd parade, where the SocioHabitaFunchal March presented the theme 'Ceilings of Light,' a tribute to the emblematic Mudejar ceilings of Funchal Cathedral. This performance highlighted a significant symbol of Madeiran heritage, celebrating light, tradition, and identity.
Councillor Helena Leal praised the marchers' commitment, stating that taking the march beyond borders "gives visibility to the talent, dedication, and community spirit." The march featured artistic direction by Neuza Quintal and musical direction by Marco Costa, accompanied by the Filarmónica Nossa Senhora do Pilar das Cinco Ribeiras.
