The Socorridos Pumping Station, a strategic infrastructure for Madeira's electrical system, has undergone renovation and modernization. The project, managed by the Empresa de Electricidade da Madeira, aims to update and strengthen the station's operational conditions.
Work includes modernizing pumps, updating control systems, and servicing valves. The complete overhaul of equipment, supported by €3.2 million from the PRR, will enable water pumping to the charge chamber, utilizing available renewable energy within the system.
This modernization boosts the production of renewable hydroelectric power, contributing to more efficient regional electricity system management and supporting the goals of the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
