The 2026 Summer Activities, organized by the Casa do Povo de São Roque do Faial, have come to an end after a month of initiatives aimed at children and young people from the parish, aged between 7 and 14. The program, which ran from July 2nd to 30th, offered a diverse range of leisure, learning, and social experiences.
Throughout the weeks, participants visited Faial Beach, the Porto da Cruz swimming pools, Quinta da Caldeira in Camacha for nature-related activities, and the Santana Volunteer Firefighters' headquarters. The program also included culinary workshops and intergenerational social moments, utilizing the facilities of the Senior Centre.
The main objectives were to provide healthy leisure occupation, encourage social interaction, and facilitate the acquisition of new knowledge. The program received support from the Santana Municipal Council and the Regional Government, through the Directorate of Rural Services, as well as the Santana Volunteer Firefighters and Quinta da Caldeira.
