The Insular Geography Association (AIG) has secured funding from The Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism (SST) for a project focused on creating new tourist routes in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos.
The goal is to enhance the territory, promote tourism sustainability, and connect visitors with the local identity through thematic routes and territorial discovery experiences. The initiative is based on the municipality's natural, cultural, landscape, and human resources, employing a geographic knowledge and responsible tourism approach.
According to AIG, the project aims to reveal different dimensions of Câmara de Lobos, highlighting natural points of interest, heritage, traditions, and community stories. AIG President Ana Neves believes the project adds value to the existing tourist offerings, promoting authentic experiences and a wider distribution of tourism benefits.
