Next Sunday, August 2nd, the town of Calheta will host the 100th monthly meeting of the Monthly Group of Madeiran Servicemen Who Served Overseas.
The program includes a mass at 11 AM in the Calheta church, followed by a tribute to servicemen who died overseas and after their return, with a blessing and flower presentation. A bus will depart from Machico at 8:30 AM to transport participants.
Lunch will be served at 1 PM at the Quebra-Mar restaurant in São Vicente. This meeting is special as it marks the hundredth gathering, which began in May 2007, and is a unique initiative in Portugal. Registration, closing on July 31st, can be made by calling 96 804 1678. Lunch costs are shared, and families are welcome.
