The 12th edition of the Funchal Ecotrail – Madeira was officially presented, with the sporting event taking place next Saturday and Sunday. The race will feature 410 athletes from various nationalities.
Organized in partnership between the Funchal City Council and Diário de Notícias, the event includes several distances on Saturday: 60 km (starting from Largo da Restauração), 45 km (Madeira Stadium), 30 km (Funchal Ecological Park), and 15 km (Pico dos Barcelos).
On Sunday, the Kids Race will be held at Santa Catarina Park, with races of 940 meters (U-14) and 1.8 km (U-16). Councillor Helena Leal highlighted the event's importance in promoting Funchal as an active city and a "friend of sport," also emphasizing its contribution to the local economy and environmental awareness.
