The 1st Island Advocacy Conference is currently underway in Porto Santo. The opening session was attended by several personalities, including the President's Representative for Madeira, Paulo Barreto, and the Dean of the Bar Association, João Massano.
The panels covered topics such as "The Autonomic Conquest," featuring Alberto João Jardim, and "The Special Regime of Colonia," with Paulo Gouveia e Silva and João Palla Lizardo. A multidisciplinary reflection on the strategic, legal, and economic importance of the sea for island regions was also held in the "The Sea That Surrounds Us" panel.
