A group of 64 individuals from Madeira has completed a walking pilgrimage between Lisbon and Fátima, covering approximately 30 kilometers each day. The journey, which lasted five days, was characterized by devotion, mutual support, and a desire to bear witness to their faith.
The pilgrims departed from the Portuguese capital on October 8th and arrived at the Sanctuary of Fátima on the 12th, in time to participate in religious celebrations preceding the anniversary of the Virgin Mary's final apparition. Notable participants included former footballer Rui Barros, accompanied by his family, and former national team coach Fernando Santos, who shared his personal testimony of faith with the group.
The group also had an audience with the Apostolic Nuncio to Portugal, Archbishop D. Andrés Carrascosa Coso. The pilgrimage concluded with participation in religious services, with the presence of public figures and the meeting with the Vatican representative being particularly memorable moments.
