The Regional Statistics Directorate (DREM) has released data on home internet access in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. In 2025, 93.4% of households with at least one individual between 16 and 74 years old had internet access.
This data was collected as part of the Survey on the Use of Information and Communication Technologies by Families (IUTIC), an annual operation aimed at producing indicators on ICT access and use. The 2026 edition of the survey is currently underway in the region until August 16.
The IUTIC is a sample survey conducted among 1,570 households, which can be answered in person, by phone, or online. Selected households have already been informed by DREM about their participation.
