Initiatives by the Madeira Youth Association of Medicine (AJEMed), supported by the Regional Government, have reached 3,154 young people in all municipalities of the island since 2024. The progress was highlighted by the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour, and Youth, Paula Margarido, at the opening of the 11th edition of the Get.IN2.MED.SCL project.
The project aims to guide, inform, and inspire young people aspiring to study Medicine, through awareness campaigns, screenings, workshops, and information sessions. Paula Margarido affirmed the Regional Government's continued support for AJEMed in promoting opportunities for training, vocational guidance, and civic participation for Madeira's youth.
The secretary praised the association's work, emphasizing the humanistic spirit of the young participants as essential for the medical profession. The event also featured talks by specialists and shared experiences from medical students.
