Albuquerque stated that his absence was due to previously scheduled commitments that could not be changed. The president assured that his absence did not represent any devaluation of the date or the institution.

The leader of the Madeiran executive stressed that, despite not being physically present, he followed the celebrations and recognizes the historical importance of the regional parliament, highlighting its role in the development of the island's autonomy.
