The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, announced that funds have been secured in the 2027 State Budget. These funds are intended to compensate the Autonomous Region of Madeira for the absence of the Cohesion Fund and to support health costs.

Albuquerque revealed that the compensation for the loss of the Cohesion Fund, negotiated with Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, is around 79 million euros. He also mentioned that work on drafting the 2027 Regional Budget has already begun, as the 2027 State Budget proposal is expected to be submitted to the Assembly of the Republic.

Other matters under negotiation with the Republic's Government include the new regime for the Madeira International Business Center and an increase for the University of Madeira, as well as compensation for the costs of insularity.
