A new application period for the 'Beekeeping Support' initiative, under PEPAC R.A. Madeira, opens this Wednesday, July 15, with a budget of 50,000 euros.
This is the second time the measure has been launched, aiming to assist beekeepers in adopting more demanding and costly prophylactic practices, thereby improving hive sanitary conditions and the sustainability of the regional beekeeping sector.
The non-reimbursable support ranges from 70 euros (for a minimum of five hives) to 1,200 euros (for at least 110 hives), depending on the number of hives owned. The intervention aims to help beekeepers cover costs associated with combating American Foulbrood.
Individuals or legal entities engaged in beekeeping activities in Madeira and meeting the eligibility criteria can apply until August 31 via the PEPAC R.A. Madeira Portal. Seeking assistance from specialized entities or the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries' Division of Agronomic Experimentation and Improvement (DEMA) for application preparation is recommended.
