Paula Cabaço, president of APRAM (Madeira Autonomous Region Ports Administration, SA), represented the Association of Portuguese Ports (APP) at a meeting of the ESPO (European Sea Ports Organisation) Cruise and Ferry group in Brussels on July 2nd.

The meeting addressed challenges and opportunities for the European port sector, including the Ports Strategy and the EU's upcoming Sustainable Tourism Strategy. Discussions covered the EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) and updates to the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS).

APRAM's participation underscores its commitment to monitoring EU policies and contributing to the future of the European port sector, especially as Madeira's ports achieve record results in cruise tourism, welcoming 791,707 passengers between September 2025 and May 2026.
