An operation is under way to recover a body from a cliff face at Ponta de São Lourenço, in the municipality of Machico.
The PSP's deputy superintendent José Catanho confirmed the operation to DIÁRIO. He said that because the area is coastal, the incident falls under the responsibility of the Maritime Police.
The Machico Municipal Fire Department, the Maritime Police and the PSP are on site carrying out the procedures needed to recover the body. No further details about the incident have been released so far.
