The Madeira Regional Nucleus of the Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC-NRM) announced the postponement of the 2026 Gratitude Festival, originally scheduled for August 1st at the Campo de Futebol do Clube Desportivo 1.º de Maio.
The decision was made due to "unforeseen circumstances beyond our control," and a new date has not yet been announced. The organization expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and thanked everyone for their understanding and support.
The event, intended to raise funds for the LPCC-NRM, was set to include a football match, a gastronomic gathering, and musical entertainment, along with a tribute to Celestino dos Leitões. It was supported by the Madeira Football Association and the Parish Council of São Gonçalo.
