Cáritas Diocesana do Funchal is holding a food collection campaign this weekend at Pingo Doce supermarkets in Madeira and Porto Santo. The initiative involves approximately 260 volunteers and around 30 partner entities.
Under the slogan 'A small gesture for a great cause', the campaign aims to collect food items to support vulnerable individuals and families. Customers can contribute via the 'Bag Campaign', handing over purchased items to volunteers, or the 'Voucher Campaign', buying vouchers at checkout.
Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, Paula Margarido, supported the initiative, highlighting Cáritas' work and the importance of solidarity. Cáritas is also seeking volunteers for this and future campaigns, who can be contacted at 291 743 331 or [email protected]
