The CDS-PP parliamentary group in Madeira, led by deputy Sara Madalena, has submitted a congratulatory motion to the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, paying tribute to athlete Miguel Silva for his performance at the 2026 European Veterans Pool Championship.
The event took place in Valencia, Spain, where the Madeiran player, competing in the over-45 category and representing the Clube Desportivo e Cultural de Electricidade da Madeira, won four medals: three gold and one bronze. He became European champion in the ball 10 and ball 8 variants and took bronze in ball 9.
In the European team final, Portugal beat Spain 2-1, with Miguel Silva winning his match and securing one of the points that clinched the title. If approved, the motion will be formally communicated to the athlete, his club and the Portuguese Billiards Federation.
