The Chega Madeira party has requested inspections of allegedly overcrowded housing in Funchal and an increase in community policing near the Barreiros School.
According to the party, complaints from residents and parents prompted this request, citing situations on Rua Brigadeiro Couceiro and a property near the school, where high tenant turnover and disrespectful behavior towards students have been reported.
Chega proposes joint inspections by the Funchal City Council, Tax Authority, and health authorities to verify occupancy conditions, licenses, safety, and tax compliance. The party also advocates for reinforced police presence near educational establishments and residential areas, along with checks on social support applications and declared addresses.
