Chega (CH) Member of Parliament Francisco Gomes has reiterated his accusations of alleged irregularities within the Regional Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) in Madeira. The MP stated that the situations reported to his party could constitute violations of labor laws and non-compliance with judicial decisions.
Specific concerns raised include the alleged imposition of paid duties on rest days, the systematic use of the "imperious necessity" mechanism to justify overtime, and the improper use of "shift change" procedures. Francisco Gomes believes these facts warrant intervention from the National Directorate of the PSP and the Ministry of Internal Administration.
The MP argues that these practices contribute to increased physical and psychological strain on officers, holding the PSP leadership responsible. The Chega party has pledged to monitor the situation and demand full clarification from the relevant authorities.
