The national and regional structures of Chega met in Lisbon to define the party's proposals for Madeira within the scope of the 2027 State Budget (OE2027).
The meeting was attended by parliamentary leader Pedro Pinto, Chega-Madeira president Hugo Nunes, and MP Francisco Gomes. The party stated that the meeting served to set priorities in areas such as air and sea mobility, taxation, security, health, justice, fishing, agriculture, and student support.
Among the measures being prepared are the implementation of the new Territorial Continuity Mechanism, a tender for a regular ferry service between Madeira and the mainland, state co-financing of 50% for two trips for displaced students, and the creation of a specific tax system for the Region. Chega also plans proposals for retention bonuses for security forces, the Armed Forces, and judicial officials, reinforcement of the PSP contingent, a 15% increase in funding for the University of Madeira, and the transfer of vacant state property.
