The Funchal Tennis Club has presented the XVIII Edition of the Inocêncio de Freitas Tournament, scheduled to take place from July 10 to 12 at the Quinta Magnólia tennis courts.
The tournament will feature six teams: three from Madeira, two from Porto, and one from Lisbon. The competition focuses on the +55 years veterans category in doubles and is a significant event for senior tennis in Madeira.
The event honors Inocêncio de Freitas, a notable figure in Madeiran tennis history, fostering competition, reunion, and camaraderie among athletes. The organizers also emphasize values such as respect, fair play, and friendship.
The success of the tournament relies on the support of various public and private entities, including sponsors like Brisa and Grupo PFI, and institutions such as the Regional Directorate of Sports and the Funchal City Council.
