The Funchal Municipal Chamber's (CMF) Mobile Eco-Center is operating in the parish of São Martinho throughout July, located on Caminho de São Martinho.
This travelling project visits all parish councils in Funchal, providing residents with a facility to deposit small hazardous household waste items that cannot be placed in regular bins. Examples include CDs, DVDs, batteries, light bulbs, ink cartridges, and toners.
Following São Martinho, the mobile eco-center will move to São Pedro in August, São Roque in September, Sé in October, Imaculado Coração de Maria in November, and Monte in December. In 2025, the unit spent a week in each parish, collecting approximately 345 kg of waste. For 2026, the duration at each location has been extended to one month to encourage greater participation.
