The Municipal Assembly Hall hosted the “More Competition” session, a joint initiative by the Competition Authority and the Funchal City Council.
The event featured speeches by Jorge Carvalho, president of the Funchal City Council, and Nuno Cunha Rodrigues, president of the Competition Authority. A working session followed, focusing on topics such as competition and business associations, labor agreements, bid-rigging in public procurement, and competition and sustainability.
Practical examples of infringements and risks were presented to clarify the Competition Authority's role in consumer protection. Jorge Carvalho highlighted the session's educational value in empowering regional stakeholders on the discussed issues and the regulator's functions.
