The Funchal Municipal Councillor, Diogo Gomes Barreto, recently visited the 16 new recruits of the Funchal Sappers Firefighters in Lisbon.
These recruits are undergoing training at the Lisbon Sappers Firefighters Regiment School. The visit aimed to acknowledge the "effort, dedication, and resilience" shown by the recruits and reaffirm the importance of civil protection and the work of firefighters for the city's safety.
Barreto emphasized that the municipal executive supports these young individuals who "are training to protect our city and all of us." The training will continue in the coming months, with their return to Madeira expected on September 22nd to complete the course and subsequently join the Funchal Sappers Firefighters.
